The rickety wooden houses, beached fishing launches and lazy gliding pelicans make this tiny town plopped in the middle of nowhere a perfect escape. Blessed by virtue of its remoteness and the Chinchorro atoll (preventing the creation of a cruise-ship port), Xcalak may yet escape the development boom.<\/p>\n

One of the best culinary surprises I had in Mexico was at Leaky Palapa Restaurant. Run by two Canadian ladies, the food here is amazing. I am not a snobby restaurant patron but I do know good food from bad, and this place is unbelievable. Marla and Linda are culinary rock stars.<\/p>\n
XTC Divers came highly recommended by a dive centre in Honduras. It’s a very personable experience here and the dive sites are incredible.<\/p>\n
