With majestic cliffs looming behind, the surrounding coastline has stunning little coves and strips of sand<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">,<\/span> while several excellent seafood restaurants flank \u00d6rzola\u2019s port. I stayed at Perla del Atl\u00e1ntico &#8211; a superb self-catering option with great views across the harbour. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/worldoftravelling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/img_9952-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5686\" srcset=\"https:\/\/worldoftravelling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/img_9952-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/worldoftravelling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/img_9952-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/worldoftravelling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/img_9952-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/worldoftravelling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/img_9952-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/worldoftravelling.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/img_9952-2048x1536.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">\u00d3rzola<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Jameos del Agua<\/strong> can easily be reached, by bus, from \u00d3rzola.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When molten lava seethed through this volcanic cavern around 5000 years ago, the ocean leaked in slightly, forming the startling clear azure lake that glints in the basilica like grotto at the heart of the Jameos, one of Manrique\u2019s greatest masterpieces and the first of the <em>intervenciones<\/em>.
